Overview:
There are various mutualistic relationships that occur within the Savanna, and a selection of these have been listed below.
Examples of Mutualistic Relationships:
· The bird kills the parasites on the rhino and warns the rhino of any danger lurking and in return the rhino protects the bird from predators.
· The acacia tree has a lot of long sharp thorns, stinging ants hollow out the thorns and live in them feeding off the nectar so when other animals bite into the tree, the ants sting them and defend their home therefore protecting the tree.
· The gazelle’s senses and the ostrich’s eye sight help to warn one another of any danger or predators.
