Overview:
Interdepenence is" a reciprocal relation between interdependent entities (objects or individuals or groups)". There are many different relationships within the Savanna that revolve around interdependence, and some of these are shown below.
Examples:
Examples of interdependece are:
Cheetah: The Cheetah depends on the zebra for food, and the Zebra depends upon insects which will need to eat other insects.
African Wild Dog: They hunt cooperatively which sometimes allows them to bring down their prey in seconds. Prey may be consumed in a few seconds, sometimes while the animal is still alive. African Wild Dogs are exclusively carnivorous. They eat no plant food, and rarely consume dead flesh or return to an earlier kill. African wild dogs rely on wild beast calves which feed on short Grass.
Black Mamba Snake: The Black Mamba Snake feed and rely on Rats and Mice, Rats feed on small animals and mice rely on wood and scraps.
Lions:The Savanna lions' main prey are herbivores. Animals such as buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, gemsbok, hartebeest and impala are plentiful in the savanna. These animals live in large groups and female lions hunt them in packs, often picking out the weakest animals to attack. Lions rely on buffalos to eat, buffalos rely on Grass. Buffalos are mostly grass eaters.
African Elephant: African elephants are herbivores. They eat roots, grasses, fruit, and bark. An adult African elephant can eat up to 134 kilograms of food in a day. An Elephant eats bark off trees and grass, the Elephant rely's on grass which is grown by rain and sun.
